International Games and Esports Tribunal

International Games and Esports Tribunal

a collaboration between WIPO and ESIC

Overview

The International Games and Esports Tribunal (IGET) is the central body for resolving disputes and appeals within the gaming and esports ecosystem. As a collaboration between ESIC and the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO), IGET provides a globally recognised and standardised framework for adjudicating matters related to esports integrity.

With the establishment of IGET, the ESIC Independent Appeals Panel has been dissolved, and its jurisdiction has been transferred to the Tribunal. Disputes and appeals previously handled under ESIC’s Codes and Disciplinary Procedures now fall under IGET’s authority. The ESIC Disciplinary Procedure rules have been updated accordingly to reflect this transition.

ESIC Disciplinary Procedure

The ESIC Integrity Program provides a structured framework for maintaining competitive fairness and integrity in esports. It encompasses a range of regulatory codes, including the Code of Conduct, Anti-Corruption Code, Anti-Doping Code, and ESIC Disciplinary Procedure, which establish standards for ethical behaviour and compliance across the industry.

Previously, the ESIC Disciplinary Procedure empowered the ESIC Independent Appeals Panel to adjudicate disputes arising under these codes. The Procedure has since been updated to refer to the International Games and Esports Tribunal (IGET), which now serves as the independent body responsible for handling all disputes previously overseen by the ESIC Independent Appeals Panel.

As the designated dispute resolution body within the ESIC Integrity ProgramIGET provides a recognised and structured forum for adjudicating disciplinary matters. The detailed rules governing this process are outlined in the ESIC Disciplinary Procedure outlined in the ESIC Integrity Program (available here).
